Description: English: Red-necked False Blister Beetle - Asclera ruficollis and spider, Leesylvania State Park, Woodbridge, Virginia. The beetle had wandered through a spider web and was continuing past it. The spider jumped on it several times. I was wondering if the spider could puncture the beetle's elytra to insert venom, but the beetle appeared unfazed and continued on its way. Date: 18 April 2015, 11:11:21.
