Böhmes Gecko (Tarentola boehmei) ist eine Echse aus der Unterordnung der Geckoartigen.
Die Männchen erreichen eine Kopf-Rumpf-Länge von 81,5 mm, die Weibchen von 73 mm.[1] Im Vergleich mit Tarentola deserti ist die Art kleiner, hat auf dem Rücken viel schwächer ausgeprägte Tuberkel und Nasenloch und Rostrale berühren sich.[1] Tarentola boehmei weist höhere Schuppenwerte als Tarentola mauritanica auf.[1] Um die Körpermitte befinden sich 133 bis 177 Schuppen. Unter der ersten Zehe befinden sich 13 bis 15, unter der vierten 16 bis 18 und unter der fünften 21 bis 23 Schuppen und Lamellen.[1] Die Haut wirkt durchscheinend rosa oder gelblich.[2] Das Schwanzregenerat ist rosafarben und weist eine rankenförmige Marmorierung auf.[2]
Die Art kommt im Südwesten Marokkos, im äußersten Norden der Westlichen Sahara und möglicherweise in Algerien vor. Ihr Lebensraum ist felsiges Gelände, Böhmes Gecko besiedelt aber auch bebaute Gebiete. Sie lebt in Felsen und niedrigen Mauern, Ruinen, Dörfern und Städten.[3]
Tarentola boehmei wurde 1984 von Joger erstbeschrieben. Die Art ist nach dem deutschen Herpetologen Wolfgang Böhme benannt, der als Erster ihre Eigenständigkeit erkannte. Innerhalb der Gattung Tarentola wird sie in die Untergattung Tarentola gestellt.[1]

Both the specific name, boehmei, and the common name, Böhme's gecko, are in honor of German herpetologist Wolfgang Böhme.[2]
Böhme's gecko is a medium-sized species with a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 7.5 cm (3.0 in) and a total length (including tail) of about 11 cm (4.3 in). The pupil is a vertical slit, and the eyelids are unable to close over the eye, being replaced by a transparent membrane. The tips of the digits are enlarged, and the whole of the digits are flattened. There is a distinctive rosette of secondary tubercles around the primary tubercles on the flanks, and the nostrils are united on the snout.[4]
Böhme's gecko is found in southern Morocco, northern Western Sahara, and possibly in Algeria[1] and Mauritania.[3] In Morocco it is present in Tazzarine, the southern part of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, the Draa River Valley and Jebel Bani, a lower range of mountains.[1]
The natural habitats of T. boehmei are subtropical or tropical dry shrublands and rocky areas. It is also found in rural gardens, and urban areas.[1]
Böhme's gecko has a relatively restricted geographic range but is common in many places within this area. It is tolerant of disturbance to its habitat, the population trend seems steady, and no particular threats have been detected. So the International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed its conservation status as being of "least concern".[1]

Ha una sagoma piatta, più accentuata nella parte anteriore, con una testa di grandi dimensioni (in proporzione al corpo) dal muso schiacciato. Possiede occhi grandi e tondi, dotati di pupilla verticale.
I maschi arrivano a misurare circa 8 cm, mentre le femmine 7. La pelle è traslucida ed ha un colore di base (cioè, esclusi i vari "disegni" e le alterazioni della tonalità di colore sul corpo) che si avvicina al rosa. Il dorso è dotato di tubercoli appiattiti e dai bordi arrotondati, circondati da diversi cerchi di tubercoli più piccoli dalle medesime caratteristiche nelle zone più periferiche della schiena.
Ciascun arto, provvisto di cinque dita dall'aspetto tozzo e schiacciato, possiede la caratteristica struttura lamellare adesiva, grazie alla quale è in grado di camminare praticamente su qualsiasi superficie.
La coda, una volta rigenerata, è di colore rosa, con una tonalità di rosso scuro che fa da effetto marmorizzato.
È attivo soprattutto di notte.

T. boehmei è diffusa nel Marocco sud-occidentale, nella zona nord del Sahara Occidentale e, forse, anche in Algeria e Mauritania.[2]
Predilige le zone rocciose, scogliere, muretti e rovine. Presente anche nei villaggi e nelle abitazioni.
In alcune zone, condivide il suo areale con T. mauritanica e vi è la possibilità che le due specie si accoppino tra loro, con il risultato di esemplari ibridi.[3]
La specie non sembra essere particolarmente minacciata e la densità della popolazione è molto elevata, motivo per il quale la IUCN Red List la considera una specie a rischio minimo (Least Concern).[1]

모로코벽은 주둥이에서 항문까지 7.5 cm (3.0 in), 꼬리까지 11 cm (4.3 in) 에 이르는 중형 도마뱀붙이다. 동공은 세로로 찢어져있으며, 눈꺼풀을 깜박이거나 눈을 감을 수 없고, 대신 투명한 눈비늘이 있다. 발가락은 끝부분이 넓적하고, 전체적으로 납작하다. 옆구리에 난 큰 결절 둘레를 각각 작은 결절들이 왕관처럼 감싸고 있으며, 콧구멍은 주둥이에 위치해있다.[5]
모로코벽은 모로코 남부, 서사하라 북부, 아마도 알제리[1]와 모리타니아[4]에 서식한다. 모로코에서는 타자린(en:Tazzarine), 안티아틀라스산맥(en:Anti-Atlas) 남부, 드라강의 계곡(:en:Draa River), 제벨 바니(:en:Jebel Bani), 선맥의 고도가 낮은 지역에 서식한다. 자연적인 서식지는 아열대, 열대 건조 덤불지대(en:shrubland), 바위가 널린 지역, 시골의 정원, 도시구역이다.[1]
모로코벽은 서식 범위가 협소한 편이지만 범위 내에서는 널리 서식한다. 서식지 교란에 둔감하며, 개체수 추세는 견조하고, 당면한 위협도 없다. 따라서 국제 자연 보전 연맹은 모로코벽을 관심 필요로 평가했다.[1]
