Spots subcircular or more or less irregular, pale yellowish-brown or cinereous, reaching a diameter of 5 mm. to 1 cm., the main spot surrounded by a pale yellowish area, about equally visible on either side of the leaf;, pycnidia numerous, minute, black, evenly distributed over the infected spot, restricted to the under side of the leaf, reaching a diameter of 80 M ; spores abundant, about 1-2 X 3-4 p.
