Niedenzuella is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Malpighiaceae.[1]
Its native range is Southern Tropical America. It is found in the countries of north-eastern Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.[1]
The genus name of Niedenzuella is in honour of Franz Josef Niedenzu (1857–1937), a German botanist born in Köppernig. He is remembered for his work with the botanical family Malpighiaceae.[2] It was first described and published in Novon Vol.16 on page 194 in 2006.[1]
