Shell of moderate size (up to 17 mm. in length), longitudinally ovate, equivalve and sub. equilateral and only moderately inflated. Posterior end broadly a,nd evenly arcuate, anterior end more narrowly rounded high up, resulting in a slight flattening below towards the ventral margin. Surface finely and densely reticulated with thin crisp radial and concentric threads of approximately equal strength, clothed with a dense fibrous yellowish-brown epidermis consisting of a mixture of flattened fringes and hair-like processes. Hinge relatively small, consisting of a short arcuate plate bearing 4-5 anterior and 5-6 posterior teeth. Ligamental area broadly triangulate. Anteriorventral-posterior margin smooth with a narrow bevelled edge. Interior dull white, smooth but not polished.
Height 10.4 mm.; length 14.0 mm.; thickness (both valves) 5.1 mm. (Holotype).

This species is readily recognized by its longitudinally ovate and almost equilateral shape.

Limopsis enderbyensis is een tweekleppigensoort uit de familie van de Limopsidae.[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1958 door Powell.
