Scopula umbelaria is a moth of the family Geometridae described by Jacob Hübner in 1813. It is found in the Benelux, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, former Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland and Russia.[2] In the east, the range extends to the eastern part of the Palearctic realm.
The wingspan is 29–33 mm. Adults are on wing from late May to early July in one generation per year.[3]
The larvae feed on Prunus spinosa, Vincetoxicum hirundinaria, Clematis, Polygonum, Vicia and Solidago species.[4] Larvae can be found from the fall to May. The species overwinters in the larval stage.

De zoomstipspanner (Scopula umbelaria) is een vlinder uit de familie spanners (Geometridae). De wetenschappelijke naam is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1813 door Hübner.
De zoomstipspanner is polyfaag en overwintert als rups. De vliegtijd is van eind mei tot in juli.
De soort komt voor in Europa in het gebied ingesloten door Estland, zuidwest Frankrijk, midden Italië en Roemenië, en oostelijk daarvan tot Japan en Korea. In België is de soort zeer zeldzaam in het zuiden van het land. De laatste Nederlandse waarneming dateert van 1904.
