Nazwę polską zapropopnował Władysław Wojewoda w 2003 r, wcześniej w polskim piśmiennictwie mykologicznym należące do tego rodzaju gatunki opisywane były pod nazwami huba, porak, klejoporek, pseudowoszczynka, sprzążkownica[3].
