Chimastrum is a butterfly genus in the family Riodinidae. They are resident in the Neotropics.

Chimastrum est un genre néotropical de lépidoptères (papillons) de la famille des Riodinidae.

Il comporte deux espèces^[1] :

• Chimastrum argentea (Bates, 1866) — présente du Mexique à Panama et en Colombie^[2].
• Chimastrum celina (Bates, 1868) — présente au Brésil^[2].

Chimastrum is een geslacht van vlinders uit de familie van de prachtvlinders (Riodinidae), onderfamilie Riodininae.

Chimastrum werd in 1886 voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Godman & Salvin.

Chimastrum er en slekt av dagsommerfugler som tilhører familien Riodinidae.

Utseende

Ganske små sommerfugler (vingespenn ca. 25 millimeter). Vingenes overside er hvit med svart kant (C. argentea) eller mørk med lysblå striper og et hvitt tverrbånd i forvingen (C. celina).

Utbredelse

Slekten er utbredt i Mellom- og Sør-Amerika.
