Description: English: This is a side view of a flower of the terrestrial orchid, Habenaria amplifolia, unique to Raroronga (Cook Islands). It shows the length and shape of the spur, which is longer than the lip or ovary, better than the adjacent images. This orchid is unique to Rarotonga but related to species in Tahiti and Fiji (Sykes 2016). It is seen here in forest above the Water Intake in the Avana Valley in October 2005.
