The wingspan is 12–16 millimetres (0.47–0.63 in).Head ferruginous, forehead in male black. Antennae in male with basal l/8 clothed with rough scales above, in female gradually thickened towards base. Forewings shining golden - bronze, usually more coppery posteriorly ; sometimes a faintly indicated darker postmedian fascia. Hindwings dark purplish-fuscous.[2]
Adults are on wing from the end of June to July.
The larvae feed on Knautia, Succisa and Scabiosa species.

De koperkleurige langsprietmot (Nemophora cupriacella) is een nachtvlinder uit de familie van de langsprietmotten (Adelidae).
De spanwijdte bedraagt tussen de 13 en 16 millimeter. De soort is moeilijk op naam te brengen.
De koperkleurige langsprietmot heeft blauwe knoop, duifkruid en mogelijk beemdkroon als waardplanten. De vliegtijd is van eind juni tot en met juli.
De koperkleurige langsprietmot komt voor in deen groot deel van Europa. In Nederland is de soort zeldzaam, vooral in het noorden van Twente wordt de soort gezien. In België is het een zeer zeldzame soort met waarnemingen vooral van voor 1980. Recent is de soort herontdekt in de provincie Namen.
