The length of the forewings is about 11.2 mm (0.44 in). The ground color of the forewings is brownish gray, interspersed with white, which tends to form markings. The ground color of the hindwings is whitish basally, becoming pale brownish in the distal half.[2] Adults are on wing in September (in Texas).

Ethmia angustalatella is een vlinder uit de familie van de grasmineermotten (Elachistidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1973 door Powell.
