Channa pulchra és una espècie de peix de la família dels cànnids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.
És un peix d'aigua dolça, demersal i de clima tropical (fins als 23 °C de temperatura),[8] el qual viu a Àsia: les aigües altament oxigenades dels rierols de muntanya de l'estat d'Arakan (l'oest de Birmània).[9][10][11][5][7]
És inofensiu per als humans[7] i és utilitzat en la pesca de subsistència i en el comerç de peixos ornamentals.[9]
Channa pulchra is a species of snakehead fish in the family Channidae which is native to Myanmar. It was first described in 2007 by R. Britz from a specimen collected from the Kyeintali Chaung (stream) basin in Rakhine Yoma, western Myanmar.[2] The fish is found in streams that are fast flowing, clear, highly oxygenated and relatively cold (subtropical). It is of little food value but getting popularity as an aquarium fish recently.[1][3][4][5]
Although it has been referred to as a dwarf snakehead,[2] it can reach a total length of up to 30 cm (12 in).[3] C. pulchra is closely related to C. ornatipinnis and C. stiktos.[6]
