A shrub, 2-3 m. high, glabrous throughout. Stipules caducous; leaflets 2 or 3 pairs, oblong or oblong-lanceolate, 2-5 cm. long, acute, a gland borne between the lower pair of leaflets or sometimes between all the pairs; racemes axillary or sometimes paniculate; sepals very unequal; petals short-oblong, 10-12 mm. long; legume terete, 6-8 cm. long, 7-9 mm. thick, obtuse, short-stipitate; seeds obovoid, brown, shining, 4 mm. long.
Type locauity: Buenos Aires. Argentina.
Distribution; Adventive or naturalized, Georgia to Tennessee and Louisiana. Native of southern South America.

Senna corymbosa is an ornamental plant in the genus Senna. It is also known as Argentine senna, Argentina senna, buttercup bush, flowering senna, Texas flowery senna or tree senna.

This evergreen shrub reaches a height of about one meter. It can be grown in temperate climates as it is somewhat frost-hardy. The soil should be loamy and peaty. Argentine Senna may be propagated by cuttings planted in sand in warm and protected conditions (e.g. a glasshouse). In the Northern Hemisphere, it flowers in July.[1]
