Pileus submembranous, conic, at length expanded, with a minute umbo or papilla, 0.8-2 cm. broad; surface hygrophanous, dullwatery-cinnamon and striatulate when moist, silkyshining, subzonate, and pale-grayish-cinnamon when dry; lamellae crowded, rather narrow, nearly free, terminating before the margin of the pileus, bright-flesh-colored; spores subovoid. irregular, 7.5 fi long; stipe slender, straight, hollow, brown, with white mycelium at the base, 5 cm. long, 1 mm. thick.
Type locality: Sandlake, New York.
Habitat: Among mosses and on rotten wood in swamps.
Distribution: Maine to Virginia in the eastern United States.
