Annual, biennial or perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, lanceolate, linear-lanceolate or oblanceolate. Capitula heterogamous, in small clusters which are arranged in cymes or corymbs. Phyllaries in 3-4 series. Outer florets female in 2-many series, numerous, usually outnumbering the inner bisexual florets. Pappus of many scabrid bristles

Pseudognaphalium is a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower family.[1][4][5] Members of the genus are commonly known as cudweeds or rabbit tobacco (P. obtusifolium is the original species with that name).[6] They are widespread in tropical and temperate regions of many countries.[1][7][8]

Species have been moved between Pseudognaphalium and the related genus Gnaphalium.
