a male Macroglenes herbaceus parasitoid wasp of the family Pteromalidae and tribe Pireninae found at the edge of the ride in Bixley Wood. Note the almost linear gaster, massive eyes with facets that are smaller lower on the eye and larger nearer the top, antennae with segments 1-3 smaller than 4, 1-4 combined are shorter than the pedicel, basal cell with 2 rows of hairs, speculum stretches from basal cell all the way to the stigmal vein and beyond.
