Sericodes greggii A. Gray, PI. Wright. 1 : 28. 1852 A low shrub with much branched, short, crooked stem and gray cinereous bark ; leaves linear or linear-spatulate, S-12 mm. long, acute, coriaceous, cinereous-strigose or hirsute ; stipules setaceous, 1-3 mm. long, spiny, yellow, persistent on the short branches on which the leaves are borne ; sepals 5 mm. long, lanceolate, acute, hirsute-strigose ; petals yellowish, shorter than the sepals, elliptic or oval, acute; anthers nearly 2 mm. long; carpels 5-6 mm. long, lanceolate, densely silky-hirsute.
Type locality : Near San Lorenzo, Chihuahua. Distribution : Northern Mexico.
