Much-branched shrubby perennial, up to 1 m tall. Leaves sessile, oblong-ovate, up to 1.5 × 1 cm, 3-veined from the base, densely grey velvety on both surfaces. Capitula in terminal, many-headed corymbose cymes. Involucral bracts 5-seriate, ovate-oblong, 2.5 mm, pale yellow or rarely purplish. Florets bright yellow; flowerheads turning straw-coloured when older.
