Automolis meteus is a moth of the family Erebidae. It was described by Stoll in 1782. It is found in Lesotho, Somalia and South Africa.[1]
The larvae feed on Poaceae species, as well as Trema bracteolata, Gnidia, Acalypha and Lasiosiphon species.

Automolis meteus is een vlinder uit de familie spinneruilen (Erebidae), onderfamilie beervlinders (Arctiinae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1781 door Stoll.
Deze nachtvlinder komt voor in tropisch Afrika.
