Trichilia reticulata P. Wilson
Trichilia polyneura Urban, Symb. Ant. 5: 380. 1908. Not T. polyneura C. DC. 1905.
A shrub or small tree 5-6.6 m. tall with grayish branches; twigs puberulent; leaves digitately 3-foliolate, rarely 4-foliolate or sometimes 5-foliolate on young shoots; petioles 0.72.5 cm. long, often somewhat channeled above, puberulent; leaflets short-petioluled or subsessile, oblong-obovate, 3-7 cm. long, 1-3 cm. broad, cuneate at the base, rounded, subtruncate, or rarely acute at the apex, glabrous, reticulateveined, entire, coriaceous; panicles racemelike, axillary, 1.5-4.5 cm. long, the peduncles and pedicels puberulent; flowers about 6 mm. in diameter; calyx cup-shaped, 4or 5-lobed, strigillose on the outside; petals 4 or 5, lanceolateelliptic or oblong-elliptic, 3-4 mm. long, 1-2 mm. broad, strigillose; staminal cup subcampanulate, glabrous; anthers subsessile, narrowly ovate; ovary strigillose; fruit 13-16 mm. long, 8-11 mm. broad, velvety-pubescent with brownish hairs.
Type locality: Papine Estate, Jamaica. Distribution: Jamaica.
