Pseudochromis coccinicauda (Tickell 1888)

Description: Characterized by brown color of male with irregular bluish bars on side and yellowish margin on brown dorsal and caudal fins; female brown color grading to whitish ventrally with bright red caudal fin; anterior lateral scales 28-34; predorsal scales 12-17; depth of body 24.4-27.6 % of SL (Ref. 90102).

Found in rock and coral reefs exposed to wave action in 1-9 m (Ref 90102).

Pseudochromis coccinicauda, the yellow-breasted dottyback, is a species of ray-finned fish, in the family Pseudochromidae, the dottybacks. It is found in the Western Indian Ocean, in the seas around the Maldives, the Andaman Islands and Indonesia. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 3.9 cm (1.5 in) in length.
