Canthigaster janthinoptera és una espècie de peix de la família dels tetraodòntids i de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.

Morfologia

  • Els mascles poden assolir 9 cm de longitud total.
  • Té moltes taques blanques escampades pel cos.[4][5]

Alimentació

Menja porífers, poliquets, algues i petites quantitats de tunicats, crustacis, equinoderms i coralls.[5]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 1-30 m de fondària.[5][6]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des de l'Àfrica Oriental fins a Transkei (Sud-àfrica), les illes de la Línia, les illes Marqueses, el sud del Japó i l'illa de Lord Howe.[5][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][4][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47][48]
