Lampanyctus australis és una espècie de peix de la família dels mictòfids i de l'ordre dels mictofiformes.
Morfologia
Depredadors
És depredat per Trachurus capensis, Lepidorhynchus denticulatus (a Austràlia), Macruronus novaezelandiae (Austràlia),[6] Genypterus capensis i Pterodroma incerta.[7][8]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí i d'aigües fondes.[4]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a tota la Terra entre 33°S i 44°S.[4][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]
