Colour in life: granules between plates mid brown, rest black, abactinal surface light grey-brown. Eaten by shrimp Hymenocera elegans (Gnathophyllidae) which sits on the aboral surface and eats the arm tips (Humphreys, 1981). General distribution: westrn Indian Ocean (Tortonese, 1980).
