Pacarina shoemakeri is known from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas (U.S.A.), where it is associated with juniper (Juniperus spp.) and occurs in chaparral, intermountain woodlands, and elevated regions of the Chihuhuan desert. It likely occurs in Mexico as well.It has been recorded from Juniperus ashei Buchholz in Arizona. (Sanborn & Phillips 2013)
