Təbii halda əsasən, Çində yayılmışdır.
Hündürlüyü 7 m-ə çatan həmişəyaşıl koldur. Eyni kolda neştərvari, ellipsvari, yumurtavari və s. formalı yarpaqlara təsadüf edilir. 5-7 ədəd ağ və ya sarı çiçəkləri uc və ya qoltuq çiçək qruplarında yerləşir, olduqca ətirli, zərif portağal qoxusu verir. Çiçəkləməsi may ayında müşahidə edilir. Meyvəsi xırda, tünd qırmızı toxumları şarşəkilli qutucuqdur. Toxum və qələmlə çoxaldılır.
Münbit torpaqları sevir, sərt şaxtalarda yerüstü hissəsi məhv olur, yazda pöhrələr verərək yenidən bərpa olur. Bu növ meşələrdə, quru daşlıq yerlərdə, dağ çaylarının vadilərində, dəniz səviyyəsindən 1000-4000 m hündürlükdə, məhsuldar, nəmişli torpaqlarda, işıqda və ya yarımkölgədə yaxşı bitir. Soyuğa davamlıdır.
Respublikanın bir çox rayonlarında yaşıllaşdırmada rast gəlinir.
Tək və qrup əkinlərində, canlı çəpərlərin salınmasında, həmçinin qazonlara daha dekorativ görünüş vermək üçün geniş istifadə olunur.
