General Description

Colonies. With a daily growth rate of 5-6 mm, with a white or pale aerial mycelium, often with some yellow exudates. Ascomata. Maturing within 12 days, grey or olivaceous in reflected light, superficial, ovate or ampulliform, ostiolate, 80-170 μm, with a brown wall of textura epidermoidea or indistinct textura angularis in surface view; ascomatal hairs straight, flexuous or slightly undulate, tapering, brown, septate, verrucose, 2-3.5 μm broad near the base. Asci. Clavate or fusiform, stalked, 8-spored, evanescent, 40-55 × 11-17 μm. Ascospores. Elongate ellipsoidal or fusiform, often inequilateral, olivaceous or greyish brown when mature, 14-19 × 6-8 μm, with a distinct, subapical or lateral germ pore near the most attenuated end. Paraphyses. Not observed.
