Colonies. With a daily growth rate of 6-7 mm, with a yellow or pale green aerial mycelium; expanding hyphae thick-walled, closely septate, 4-6 μm broad, with often swollen and/or pigmented cells. Aleurioconidia (chlamydospores) spherical or ellipsoidal, mostly intercalary, singly or catenate, occasionally clustered, smooth or verrucose, colourless or pale brown, 5-8 μm. Ascomata. Maturing within 14 days, pale olivaceous or yellow green in reflected light, ovate or urniform, ostiolate, 80-170 μm, with a brown wall of textura epidermoidea or intricata in surface view; ascomatal hairs long, coiled mainly in the distal parts, indistinctly septate, brown, verrucose, 2-3.5 μm broad near the base. Asci. Fusiform, stalked, 8-spored, evanescent, 48-60 × 13-17 μm. Ascospores. Ellipsoidal, with attenuated and rounded ends, symmetrical, dark olivaceous or brown when mature, 12-15 × 7.5-9.5 μm, with a subapical or lateral germ pore. Paraphyses. Not observed.
