Leptodermis dielsiana H. J. P. Winkl.

Leptodermis dielsiana is close relative of Leptodermis scissa, but differs from the latter in its stipules compressed triangular (vs. long triangular), shortly acuminate (vs. acuminate), bracteole longer than calyx (vs. shorter than calyx or subequal in length).

Leptodermis dielsiana is occurring in NW Yunnan of China.

Small shrubs, 8-50 cm tall, with root-like flagellums; young branches not lignified, red, puberulent, old branches glabrescent, with gray barks, short branches 3-10 mm long, sometimes longer, with 2 or 3 pairs of leaves. Leaves sparsely arranged on long branches, crowded on lateral short branches, leaves smaller on lower part of both short and long branches, sometimes suborbicular, 6-15 mm long, 4-12 mm wide, leaves on upper part of branches ovate or oblong, 10-30 mm long, 5-15 mm wide, apex acute or slightly obtuse, apiculate, base attenuate to petiole, covered with conical hairs except pubescent on midrib above, glabrous or sparsely hairy on nerves below; lateral nerves 3-5 pairs, confluent in arcs; petioles 2-6 mm long, pubescent; stipules membranous herbaceous, ca. 1.5 mm long, with 2 dominate veins parallel to margins and confluent at apex, stipules on upper part, especially on the inflorescences, compressed-triangular, shortly acuminate, with 2 glandular teeth near the apex, 2 others slightly apart, stipules on lower part usually without glandular teeth, ciliate at base, covered with very short puberulous. flowers 1-3 terminal on the very short branches, sometimes 1-2 flowers axillary in the axils of upper pair of leaves, pedicles covered with papillose scabrid hairs; bracteoles 2, 2.5-3.5 mm long, free, sessile, transparent, with veins percurrent, ovate oblong or oblong, apiculate, upper part ciliate, puberulent, longer than calyx; calyx lobes 5, rarely 6, submembranous, veined, oblong, apiculate or slightly obtuse, ciliate; corolla large, 15-17 mm long, tube funnelform, shortly papillose near the base outside, villous, glabrous at base inside, lobes 3-4 times shorter than corolla tube, ovate rounded, 4-5 mm long, not reflexed, margins wavy, glabrous outside, villous inside; stamens inserted in corolla tube throat, filaments attached to middle of anthers, slightly longer than the base of anthers, anthers linear, included or semi-exserted; style 5-lobed, glabrous, lobes relatively long, with long papilla, included or exserted.

Growing in roadside, shrubs; 1500-2500 m.
