Pycnia hypophyllous, scattered among the uredinia, brownish-yellow, punctiform, inconspicuous, subcuticular, conoidal, small, 80-120 /* broad, and half as high.
Uredinia hypophyllous, scattered, round or oblong, 0.2-0.5 mm. long, soon naked, pale cinnamon-brown, pulverulent, ruptured epidermis conspicuous ; paraphyses peripheral, numerous, incurved and variously bent, linear or linear-clavate, 7-16 by 40-65 fi t wall paleyellow, thick, 3-5 /*, often obliterating the lumen, smooth ; urediniospores oblong or obovate, 18-21 by 21-26/*; wall medium thin, 1.5-2/*, pale-yellow, closely verrucose, pores 6-8,
scattered, moderately distinct.
