Pycnia chiefiy honey-yellow; ostiolar filaments prominent, up to 50 m long.
I Aecia hypophyUous, distributed rather unevenly over the leaves, shortcyhndric, 0.34 mm in diameter; peridium nearly colorless, cupulate, the margin recurved and erose; peridial cells rhomboidal or oblong, 16-20 by 31-37 m, the outer wall 6-9 ^ thick striate, the inner wall 3-4 m thick, rather coarsely verrucose; aeciospores globoid or broadly ellipsoid, 16-20 by 20-28 m; wall colorless, 1.5 /. thick, very minutely verrucose, appearing smooth when
wet. Telia hypophyllous, scattered rather uneveniy among the aecia, or arising from within the aecia, circular, 0.3-0.4 mm. in diameter, pulvinate, not pulverulent, rather early naked, ruptured epidermis conspicuous; teliospores ellipsoid, 16-22 by 31-37 /x, usually rounded above, rounded or narrowed below, noticeably constricted at septum; wall cinnamon-brown, 1.5-2 ju thick, smooth, 7-10 m thick above; pedicel goldenor light cinnamon-brown, delicate, rarely up to 100 M long.
