Prunulus subfumosus Murrill, sp. nov
Pileus convex to subexpanded, thin, scarcely umbonate, scattered, 6-10 mm. broad; siirface minutely silky to subglabrous, striate, dry, pale-f umosous, margin concolorous, sHghtly crenate: lamellae adnate, rather broad, subdistant, white: stipe filiform, pruinose to glabrous, sub concolorous below, white above, 4-5 cm. long, 0.5 mm. thick.
Type collected on fallen dead wood in a wet thicket at New Orleans, Louisiana, September 8. 1908, F. S. Earle 126 (herb. N. Y. Bot. Gard.).
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
