Leaves of the caudices similar to those of L. serpyllifolia ; flower-stalks 2-5.5 cm. tall, sparingly glandular-pubescent or almost glabrous, bearing few essentially glabrous leaves; sepals ovate or oblong-ovate, 2-2.5 mm. long, somewhat glandular-ciliate, obtuse; petals golden-yellow, 6-7 mm. long, the oval or broadly obovate blades abruptly contracted into broad claws, truncate or subcordate at the base ; filaments subulate.
Type locality : Rocky Mountains. Distribution : High mountains of Colorado.
