Die Witdoring (Senegalia polyacantha subsp. campylacantha) is 'n boom endemies aan Afrika. In Engels staan die boom bekend as Whitethorn.
Dit is 'n groot bladwisselende boom wat tot 20 m hoog kan word, met 'n relatief spaarsamige, vormlose tot ronde kroon. Die stam is besonders lank, reguit en kaal en dra lang, kaal takke. Ouer bas is donkergrys, lengtegewys redelik diep gegroefd, wat afskilfer in groot kurkagtige vlokke om die nuwe geel bas daaronder bloot te stel.
Die fyn, haarlose blaartjies (5 x 1 mm) word dubbelsaamgestel aan pinnas gedra (tot 40 pare aan 'n pinna, 25 cm lank). Klein rooibruin haakdorings kom aan die onderkant van die strosstingel voor, met 'n buitengewoon groot, ovaal klier aan elke blaarsteel.
Die wortels stel chemiese stowwe vry wat krokodille, slange en rotte wegdryf.[2][3]
'n Ekstrak gemaak van die witdoring se wortels is bruikbaar teen slangbyt en 'n kind wat rusteloos is snags, se lyf kan hiermee afgespons word.[2]
Die boom se hout is bruikbaar as brandhout, maar sy dorings maak dit effens lastig.[3] Die kernhout het 'n digtheid van ongeveer 705 kg/m³.[4]
