Megophrys wuliangshanensis Ye & Fei 1995

Boulenophrys wuliangshanensis, commonly known as the Wuliangshan horned toad, is a species of frog found in eastern Asia. It has been found in Yunnan province in China and the state of Nagaland in India and it is thought to occur in Myanmar (Burma), although there are no records from there as yet.^[1] Its specific name refers to its type location, Mount Wuliang in Jingdong County.^[2]

The Wuliangshan horned toad is a small species; females reach body length of about 41 mm (1.6 in).^[3] It is a rare species. Currently its IUCN Red List classification is Data Deficient.^[1]

Distribución geográfica

Se encuentra en la provincia china de Yunnan, en los estados indios de Nagaland, Assam y Manipur, y, posiblemente, en la zona adyacente de Birmania.

Megophrys wuliangshanensis est une espèce d'amphibiens de la famille des Megophryidae^[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce se rencontre^[1] :

• en République populaire de Chine, dans la province du Yunnan dans le xian de Jingdong ;
• en Inde dans les États du Nagaland, d'Assam et du Manipur.

Sa présence est incertaine en Birmanie.

Étymologie

Son nom d'espèce, composé de wuliangshan et du suffixe latin -ensis, « qui vit dans, qui habite », lui a été donné en référence au lieu de sa découverte, le mont Wuliang (parfois orthographié Wuliang-shan), dans le xian de Jingdong au Yunnan.
