Forewing 24.5 mm. Head dark brown, with orange-yellow patch immediately ventral to each antenna and another at posterior margin directly posterior to each antenna. Tegulae dark brown, edged anteriorly, laterally, and medially with orange-yellow; patagia dark brown, each with orange-yellow anterior spot; rest of thorax dark brown. Forewing dark brown, with pale yellow markings; slightly iridescent. Hindwing greyish brown; darkest at apex and along outer margin. Segment 1 of abdomen light yellowish brown dorsally, remainder black, with transverse orange band in anterior half of each segment; ventral surface of abdomen dark brown except for yellowish brown segment 2.

Described from an unspecified number of specimens from Castro, Paraná, [Brazil]. There are no specimens other than the lectotype in the USNM collection.
