Chardinia

We found lots of Chardinia orientalis fruits this year. They are so besutiful.

I posted closeups of this plant in the past. http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo73592.htm Chardinia orientalis is an annual that grows in the semi-arid parts of the Middle East towards central Asia. The flwoers are dull violet and very shy. the starry fruits are very prominent.
