The blacktop corydoras (Corydoras acutus) is a tropical freshwater fish belonging to the subfamily Corydoradinae of the family Callichthyidae. It originates in inland waters in South America, and is found in the Amazon River basin in Ecuador and Northern Peru. It was described by Edward Drinker Cope in 1872.

The fish will grow in length up to 1.7 inches (4.4 centimeters). It lives in a tropical climate in water with a 6.0 - 8.0 pH, a water hardness of 2 - 25 dGH, and a temperature range of 77 - 83 °F (25 - 28 °C). It feeds on worms, benthic crustaceans, insects, and plant matter. It lays eggs in dense vegetation and adults do not guard the eggs. The female holds 2-4 eggs between her pelvic fins, where the male fertilizes them for about 30 seconds. Only then does the female swim to a suitable spot, where she attaches the very sticky eggs. The pair repeats this process until about 100 eggs have been fertilized and attached.

The blacktop corydoras is of commercial importance in the aquarium trade industry.

Descrizione

Il corpo, leggermente compresso sull'addome e sui lati, raggiunge una lunghezza massima di 5,5 cm^[1]. La colorazione è grigiastra con piccole macchie scure. Le pinne sono trasparenti ma la pinna caudale è striata di grigio e sulla pinna dorsale è presente una macchia nera.

Ha dieta onnivora.

Riproduzione

Le uova (fino a 100) vengono fecondate mentre si trovano tra le pinne pelviche della femmina^[2].

Acquariofilia

Può essere allevato in acquario, dove si può riprodurre.

Mô tả

C. acutus trưởng thành dài khoảng 5 - 7 cm. Chúng thường sống ở tầng đáy của các sông hồ, thích hợp với môi trường nước có độ pH từ 6,0 đến 8,0, độ cứng của nước khoảng 2 - 25 dGH và nhiệt độ khoảng từ 25 đến 28°C. Thức ăn chủ yếu của C. acutus là giun, côn trùng, động vật giáp xác và rong rêu. C. acutus đẻ trứng trong những thảm thực vật dày nhưng không bảo vệ trứng^[1][2][3].

Ở C. acutus, cá mái sẽ lớn hơn và phát triển hơn cá đực, điều này rất dễ nhận thấy. Cá đực thường có vây tròn hơn khi trưởng thành^[1].

Sinh sản

Tới mùa sinh sản, cá mái giữ 2 - 4 quả trứng giữa vây bụng của nó, cá đực sẽ thụ tinh trong khoảng 30 giây. Sau đó, cá mái sẽ bơi đến một nơi thích hợp, nơi nó sẽ gắn những quả trứng rất dính lên bề mặt. Các cặp cá sẽ lặp lại quá trình này cho đến khi khoảng 100 quả trứng đã được thụ tinh^[2].

Cá cảnh

C. acutus có tầm quan trọng trong ngành thương mại cá cảnh. Một điều cần lưu ý là tránh sử dụng đá dăm (sắc nhọn) để làm đáy hồ, vì sẽ gây nguy hiểm cho cá khi chúng đào hang^[1].

黑頂兵鯰，為輻鰭魚綱鯰形目美鯰科的其中一種，為熱帶淡水魚。分布於南美洲秘魯及厄瓜多北部亞馬遜河流域，棲息在底層水域，體長可達5.5公分，生活習性不明，可做為觀賞魚。
