Description: This native, perennial species can be found in open woods and prairies. It is also known by the names prairie lily, western red lily, and Philadelphia lily. The plants are usually slender and many only have a single flower, though some may have two or three flowers blooming at the same time. These flowers can be found blooming in late June or July on the Larson and Kosanke Waterfowl Production Areas in the Kulm Wetland Management District of North Dakota.
