Location: 32.818257,-117.193308Description- I found this Valley Carpenter Bee in my backyard. I live in San Diego and my backyard faces the Tecolote Canyon. When I found this bee it was flying around and getting nectar from the purple flowers on my fence. These bees are common. I usually see one every couple days. This insect is a part of the High Tech High Insects of San Diego Field Guide.
