They are native to Piauí, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), GoiáS, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Tocantins, Ceará, Rio Grande Do Sul, Maranhao, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso Do Sul, RondôNia, Pernambuco, Pará, The Neotropics, Distrito Federal, Alagoas, and Amazônia. They have compound, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 32 m.
