Uredinia hypophyllous, rather numerous, scattered, round, very small, 0.1 mm. in diameter or less, early naked, pulverulent, pale cinnamon-brown, ruptured epidermis inconspicuous ; urediniospores usually broadly obovoid with pores in surface view, triangular-obovoid with pores in optical section, 16-23 by 16-24 /x; wall pale cinnamon-brown, thin, 1-1.5 /n, finely and closely or moderately echinulate, the pores rather indistinct^ 2, somewhat subequatorial.
