Juncus effusus is a species of perennial grass in the family rushes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to North America, Alaska, Mata Atlântica, Canada, Rio Grande Do Sul, Paraná, The Contiguous United States, Rio De Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, and Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Individuals can grow to 6.6 feet.
