Osmunda spectabilis (Royal Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family royal ferns. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to GoiáS, North America, Espirito Santo, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Eastern North America, Distrito Federal, Cerrado, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Sul, The Contiguous United States, Canada, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Mata Atlântica. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 4.5 feet. They have alternation of generations.
