Nepeta cataria (catnip) is a herb species of plants in the family Lamiaceae, with a self-supporting growth habit. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Black Swallowtail, wool-carder bee, Physocephala tibialis (Say 1829), and giant resin bee. It is a photoautotroph.
