Batis maritima (Turtleweed) is a species of shrub in the family Bataceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to U.S. Virgin Islands, the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain (AGCP), Middle America, Florida, the Hawaiian Islands, Caribbean islands, eastern north america, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, and Rio Grande do Norte. Turtleweed has simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by Great Southern White. Turtleweed is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 0.1 feet.
