Saponaria officinalis (Bouncingbet) is a species of perennial herb in the family carpetweeds. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is associated with freshwater habitat. Bouncingbet has simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Eastern Giant Swallowtail. Bouncingbet is a photoautotroph.
