Rhododendron canescens (Mountain Azalea) is a species of tree in the family Ericaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, North America, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves, purple flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Monarch and Palamedes Swallowtail. Individuals can grow to 17 m.
