Annuals, 3.5–30 cm; taprooted, eglandular or glandular. Leaves not densely overlapping, proximal to mid cauline blades oblanceolate to linear-oblanceolate, 4–15 × 1–4 mm, herbaceous, not clasping, flat, faces strigose, often orangish gland-dotted. Involucres cylindro-turbinate, 2.5–4 × 2.5–5 mm. Ray florets 5–18; corollas usually white, sometimes lavender-pink to deep lavender-rose. Disc florets 6–25, bisexual or central florets often functionally staminate. Cypselae 5(–6)-nerved, 1.6–2 mm, faces strigose; pappi in 2 series, outer of (4–)5(–6), scarious, irregular scales 0.1–1.4 mm plus inner of (4–)5(–6), tawny, awnlike, thick bristles 1.5–3 mm. 2n = 16.

Chaetopappa asteroides, called the tiny lazy daisy,[2] or Arkansas leastdaisy,[3] is a North American species of plants in the family Asteraceae. It is native to the southern Great Plains of the United States (Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas) and also to northeastern Mexico (Tamaulipas, Hidalgo).[2][4]
