Ptelea trifoliata (Wafer Ash) is a species of tree in the family Rutaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed as of special concern by COSEWIC. They are native to Western North America, Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, and Canada. They have compound, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Oxybelus inornatus, Eight-spotted Forester, Myolepta nigra, and Branded Skippers. Individuals can grow to 25 feet.
